Unternehmen müssen Geld verdienen, um nachhaltig am Markt bestehen zu können. Doch wie sie dieses Ziel erreichen, ist ihnen überlassen. „Nachhaltigkeit“ ist zu einem der meist beachtetsten Begriffe in der Geschäftswelt geworden und doch wird das Prinzip seit langem überwiegend bloß als Pflichtübung betrachtet; wichtig für die Außenwirkung und Glaubwürdigkeit eines Unternehmens, aber kaum ein Instrument, um das geschäftliche Wachstum anzukurbeln.
Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde eine Grundkonzeption des Social Startup Nopium entwickelt, das das Prinzip der Nachhaltigkeit in den Mittelpunkt stellt, indem es die Lösung eines gesellschaftlichen Problems anstrebt.
Nopium ist ein Naturkosmetikunternehmen, das den Trend der Nachhaltigkeit aufgreift und versucht, durch die Verwendung ökologischer Ingredienzien die Abhängigkeit afghanischer Bauern vom Opiumanbau zu verringern. Als zertifizierte Naturkosmetik ist Nopium eine zu 100 Prozent natürliche und tierversuchsfreie Hautpflege, die auf synthetische Inhaltsstoffe verzichtet, um Gesundheit und Umwelt zu schützen. Das Besondere an Nopium ist, dass es für seine Produkte hochwertiges Rosen- und Neroliöl von Bauern aus Afghanistan bezieht, um diesen eine Alternative zur illegalen Opiumwirtschaft zu bieten. Auf diese Weise fördert das Start-up die humanitäre und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung des Landes.
Aufbauend auf diesem Grundkonzept wurde eine auf die Zielgruppe zugeschnittene Kommunikationsstrategie entwickelt, die die Thematik der Nachhaltigkeit auf emotionale Weise kommuniziert. Die Kommunikationsstrategie basiert vor allem auf dem Bespielen der Online-Kanäle, insbesondere Social Media, um die Zielgruppe effizient und gemäß ihrem Nutzungsverhalten zu erreichen.
